Beijing Noodle No. 9

You don’t have to travel to China to enjoy authentic cuisine from one of the casual, yet sophisticated noodle shops and cafés that are cropping up all over Beijing. At Caesars Palace, Beijing Noodle No. 9 offers a hip and trendy eatery straight from the Asian mainland, and no passport is needed to savor its hand-pulled noodles, hand-rolled Shanghai-style soup dumplings, and other tasty a la carte favorites.
An experience from the moment you walk in the door, Beijing Noodle No. 9 is one of the most uniquely designed restaurants in Las Vegas. Guests will enter past a row of goldfish tanks into an all-white dining room, entirely encased with a white metal shell of back-lit cutouts, like some kind of silver, glittering bird’s nest. The affluence of white on the walls, ceiling, tables, and chairs is even a little daunting at first, but it serves as a kind of sensory cocoon, allowing diners to focus that much more on the food.
Unlike most Chinese restaurants in the US, Beijing Noodle No. 9 emphasizes cuisine from northern China as opposed to southern China, and the choice is a refreshing change from the ordinary. Executive Chef Yu Li of Beijing cranks out savory and unique dishes like Beijing-Style Slow-Roasted Beef, Beijing-style House-made Noodles with Sliced Pork and Mushrooms, and Steamed Scallops and Egg Noodles with Garlic. Beijing Noodle No. 9 features a custom-designed seafood kitchen with freshwater and salt water aquaria, so diners can be assured that seafood and live fish is fresh and prepared to perfection.
Several varieties of dim sum are available to order a la carte, and the noodle dishes are just as fun to eat as they are to watch the chefs hand-roll. For a delicious side dish, try Chef Li’s Special Beef Pancakes, filled with savory beef and herbs and seared to a crispy golden brown. And be sure to order a meat or seafood dish simmered in a clay pot, such as the Braised Chicken or Pan-Fried Sea Bass. Both are served tender and swimming in a wonderfully flavorful sauce. Available to complement each spicy and tasty dish is a variety of freshly squeezed juices, such as watermelon, orange, and carrot, signature Chinese cocktails, and popular Asian beverages.
While diners feast, they’ll be able to see into the open wok and appetizer kitchen, which also features counter seating. Dishes at Beijing Noodle No. 9 are served family-style and meant for sharing, so be sure to bring a friend to this delightful Asian eatery – and order plenty.
